Guava, known as jamfal in Gujarati, is a fragrant tropical fruit with a sweet, slightly tangy flavour. The skin and seeds are edible, so it can be eaten whole or sliced. In India it is often enjoyed with a sprinkle of salt and chilli powder, or turned into juice, chutney and jam.
