Indian Gooseberry / Amla (500g)

Amla (Phyllanthus emblica), the Indian gooseberry, is a small, pale-green fruit with a distinctly sour and astringent flavour. It has a long tradition in Indian cooking. Use it for pickles, sweet murabba preserve, chutneys and juice, or eat it sliced with a pinch of salt.
